Guess Who These People Are?

Any guesses on who these people are? Well, I will give you a hint. The man in the center had his last name on a bottle of ketchup. And the other 2? email me your guesses and the winner receives something fun (I still need to think of something) Good Luck!

Hartwood Visit

Hello All!

Dad and I were at Hartwood last Tuesday doing some work on my Hartwood Project. Dad and I walked through all of the rooms at Hartwood while Dad recorded his thoughts on a hand held tape recorder. I will transcribe his spoken word into a Word or some other type of document to include in my Hartwood Project. More on this later, I might post this transcript at some other time.

We met Sylvia Easler and some of the tour guides at the mansion, it was nice to sit awhile with everyone and chat.

I have been unable to post to this blog for about the last month, Google finally figured out was wrong with it and they fixed it last night. I apologize for those of you that wrote me about posting the info. for the compass orienteering exercise held at Hartwood last month as I was unable to post it. Please contact me the next time you have such an exercise and I will post it.

Until next time!

pics from Hartwood visit 6/18/07

Hi everyone,
Kim, Hannah and myself met our friend and true friend of Hartwood Joshua Wisniewski at Hartwood yesterday for a tour of the house as well as a stroll around the grounds. We also met with Recreation Superintendent Sylvia Easler with whom we discussed the Lawrence/Flinn families and we enjoyed reminscing with her about the past Hartwood employees and family.
The day was hot but we hiked down to the stables and back to the house. Check out the attached pictures I took as well as a few pictures of Kim, Hannah, Joshua and myself.
Check back here in the near future as I hope to post some more info. on our family film project.

Until then,

Jeff L.

I have recenty been in contact with the National Film Preservation Foundation regarding my family films and how we can proceed forward with getting them reviewed and ultimately preserved. I will have more info. on my research in an upcoming blog entry.

Happy New Year!!!!!

Hello Everyone,

Sorry this post is a little late, I known we have been into the new year for almost a month now, but I wanted to wish everyone a great 2007!

We have several projects regarding Hartwood moving forward, including trying to get my family home movies reviewed to see what the movies contain content wise. The problem has been trying to locate someone with a 16mm projector that can be used to view the films. Amber Bierkan of the Friends of Hartwood group and I have been trying to track down various people with this type of projector and we have a few irons in the fire and hopefully within the month or so we can have them previewed. I will share the content of the movies here after they are previewed.

Our family toured the Mansion on New Years Eve and enjoyed the Festival of Lights afterward. If you have not make sure you go this December and enjoy the app. 3 million lights as the donations go to worthy charities.

If you have seen and read this blog please leave a post, we would love to hear from you. I will try to update this blog as time permits. One of my New Years resolutions is to update this blog at least a few times a month, we will see.

Until next time, be safe and take care,

Jeff Lawrence
